Getting Crunchy in the Country without Heat

Woke up this morning feeling much colder than usual. I thought maybe I was just tired. My three year old was ready to party and I felt like a teenager asking for "five more minutes" but three year olds don't give five more, so up I went.

The thermostat wasn't working and I knew we were without heat. I braved the cold and got some wood from outside and after five tries, the fire was lit. Here is a photo of it tonight. I realize this is cheating but most fires look roughly like this.
